Ikat or mudmee, natural indigo dyed cushion cover made from 100% pure, hand spun and handwoven silk.
Ikat patterns are made by hand wrapping parts of the yarn so they absorb less color when dying. Then, when weaving the threads will have to be woven in the right order.
This fabric has a smooth feel to it and is less shiny than regular silk. It also has a lot of character to it and is clearly hand made.
Very rare fabric that we have limited supply of as it takes a lot of time to make.
Made by artisans in the far corners of rural Thailand that practice the almost forgotten art of home textile making. All materials including the silk worms, the mulberry trees locally grown by the small farming communities.
