Very heavy weight, thick handwoven fabric made from hand spun cotton in a plaid pattern. This fabric is primarily made of natural brown cotton, a very rare and hard to find variety of cotton. The other colors are made with natural dyes.
While this fabric almost looks like jute, it is actually cotton and thus much softer and it will get softer in use and after washing.
This fabric is great for making cushions or bags. For clothes it might be a bit course. It is not difficult to work with but it is good to have a overlock (serger) machine as it can fray easily as it always the case with handwoven fabrics. Once locked and stitched it is strong.
Because of the hand spun threads, this fabric has a completely unique feeling to it.
