This is one of our fabrics that needs to be seen and felt to appreciate. It has what is called a log cabin weave but only with blue yarn which gives the fabric a beautiful texture and feel. Irregularities from hand weaving and subtle differences in blue shades from the hand indigo dyeing add to a subtle but very rich texture that gets even better when viewed op close.
This is a medium weight handwoven fabric made from pure cotton. It has a slightly rough feel but will become soft over time after using and washing it.
This fabric is great for making all kinds of clothes like shirts and skirts but also cushions and soft bags. It is not difficult to work with but it is good to have a overlock (serger) machine as it can fray easily as it always the case with handwoven fabrics. Once locked and stitched it is strong.
