Medium weight handwoven fabric made from cotton. Hand dyed with natural indigo dye. This fabric has a light blue indigo color and has a slubby texture and feel to it.
Please note: this fabric has some banding visible as lighter and darker colored areas (see the picture). This is because it is difficult to lightly indigo dye yarn a consistent light color and different batches turned out differently.
Indigo dyed fabric will wear similar to jeans. It will bleach from washing and wearing but stay beautiful.
This fabric has a soft feel to it and will get softer after washing.
The weight of this fabric is 280 gr/sqm or 8.25 oz/sqy.
This fabric is great for making cushions, clothes or bags. It is not difficult to work with but it is good to have a overlock (serger) machine as it can fray easily as it always the case with handwoven fabrics. Once locked and stitched it is strong.
The width of this fabric is 100 cm (39").
