Indigo-dyed handwoven cotton woven alternating between white and indigo. Medium thick texture, tightly handwoven fabric made from 100% cotton.
Indigo dyed fabric will wear similar to jeans. It will bleach from washing and wearing but stay beautiful.
This fabric has a slight rough feel to it and will get softer after washing. This is because the weavers used rice starch to make weaving easier.
The weight of this fabric is 290 gr/sqm or 8.25 oz/sqy.
This fabric is great for making cushions, clothes or bags. It is not difficult to work with but it is good to have a overlock (serger) machine as it can fray easily as it always the case with handwoven fabrics. Once locked and stitched it is strong.
